Mission:
Sacred Heart School aims to provide quality education for our students and to implement, within a loving faith community, the three-fold plan of Christian (Catholic) education: to live and teach the Catholic faith, to build and strengthen community, and to serve others.

Objectives:
  • To integrate Christians truths and values into the student’s total development.
  • To design a curriculum that will meet the needs and talents of the students.
  • To prepare the student to assume their roles in society.
  • To teach the students to appreciate the richness and variety of each culture, especially their own cultural heritage.
  • To help the students acquire an understanding of the importance of physical and mental health and environmental and ecological concerns.
  • To prepare the students to participate in civic and governmental affairs.
  • To develop an understanding of our economic system and to prepare the students to participate responsibly in it.

What sets Sacred Heart School apart?
Many factors have contributed to the growth and success of Sacred Heart School: stability, tradition, academic excellence, Christ like behavior among outstanding Floresville citizens, respect for others and property and the Love for God.

Curriculum:
We strive for high standards of Catholic education by following the curriculum guidelines of the Archdiocese of San Antonio which incorporate the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and directives proposed by the TCCED. The school's curriculum includes: Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts (English, grammar, reading spelling, and phonics), Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Health, Physical Education, Technology and Foreign Languages.

Academic Excellence
Sacred Heart School holds a higher than average standard with students, faculty/staff and parents in order to provide an excellent quality education. The unique setting of Multiage Classrooms, have increased Stanford Test Scores in both total Reading and Math applications due to the many quality Hands-on activities and well designed learning centers implemented throughout the day. The school also recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their children; therefore, Sacred Heart School strongly emphasizes Parent accountability which include, frequent teacher/parent conferencing and progress achievement through daily classwork/homework monitoring. The rigorous curriculum enables students in all grades to develop and acquire proficient skills in Language/Literacy & Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Music, Drama, Fine Arts and Technology. The students are given many opportunities throughout the year to demonstrate these skills during In-House Science Fair, International Day, Oral readings for the weekly and monthly liturgies, Research and Presentation through Power-Point and Inter-Net Access. Along with the enriched curriculum the students are responsible for thematic and seasonal projects scheduled throughout the year to increase comprehension and application. Sacred Heart School is able to strive for high standards of Catholic education by following the curriculum guidelines of the Archdiocese of San Antonio which incorporates the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and directives proposed by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department.

Christ Like behavior:
Gospel values and Church teachings are integrated into all areas of curriculum through daily prayer and implementation of parables during story time beginning at 3K and overflowing into the older grades. The children are exposed to the many teachings of Jesus at a very young age and continue into adulthood. The Christ-like behavior is modeled by the administration, faculty and staff which are witnessed by the school community. As a result, Floresville has Angels working in and around the surrounding community modeling Christ-like behavior along with practicing good moral and work ethics. The children receive their religion foundation and formation at Sacred Heart School and at home with their parents. Academically and spiritually outstanding citizens such as the Wilson County Sheriff-Joe D. Tackitt, Wilson County Clerk-Eva Martinez, and DPS Trooper Anthony Flores are but a few who have experienced the Love for God. With Christ-like behavior, you can be certain that the respect for self and others are en-coded into their character which is evident as they wear the school uniform with pride and extend a helping hand for families less fortunate.

Sacred Heart School conveys a strong hold on tradition and equips students with the necessary skills to become integrated individuals who are happy and positive in their education ministry and spiritual journey, as a Christian individual, and as a member of the community, which he/she resides and interacts. Parents live for their children and want the best for them along with happiness and peace in their hearts. Sacred Heart School is the one educational institution in the Wilson County, which combines both academic excellence and spiritual growth under the direction of a motivated administration, faculty and staff.
