St. Cecilia Catholic School provides a program that seeks to serve the total, fully-human person. We believe that the parents or guardians have the primary responsibility for the education of their children and that the school and church support and complement the role. As a Catholic school, we aim to develop in the student a deepening relationship with God which relates to the whole texture of life.
Accreditation
St. Cecilia School is a fully accredited elementary school as declared by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department recognized by the Texas Education Agency of the State of Texas.
History
Staffed by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, St. Cecilia School first opened its doors in 1921 as an elementary parish school for the purpose of providing quality education to meet the needs of the children in the area. Some Incarnate Word sisters still serve the school, and there are two other religious communities who help staff the school. Through the years, parents have realized that the excellence in education provided at St. Cecilia was worth any sacrifice.
This tradition is continued annually for the approximate 220 students who are primarily minorities from across the San Antonio community.
